shiok.

Today i finally experienced the life of a civilian after 2 weeks of hell. Was so shiok that i'm quite reluctant to say goodbye to it, and book in tomorrow evening. Friends think that i'm so army-enthu, but the fact is that i'm not, as there are many things i can't say. I'll say i'm just army-neutral at the moment.

Started the day with a impromptu visit to the army market at Beach Road with my 2 bed/bunk buddies, Eric and Li Quan. Met many many familiar faces there as well, was so damn coincidental. Was a pity i didn't get what i really wanted. We went off later, i went home.

Nearing 8PM, I went off to Serangoon Gardens to meet up with Weili, Caleen and Tricia for dinner. We wanted Chomp Chomp initially, but decided to have Cafe Cartel instead. Sat down talking cock for a couple of hours while waiting for the heavy rain to stop. When the rain has finally settled down, Caleen suggested we have beancurd at Chomp Chomp.

Usually, the activities done today for Shawn Lee would be considered as "boring". But now for Recruit Lee, it'll be considered as "so happening". Cherish is the word.

Not forgetting to wish Kokboon,
HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY!
Wanted to ask you along for the Chomp Chomp dinner to celebrate at midnight one, but so sorry i didn't pick up the call! Paiseh! To repay you, i let you play with my PSP for a few more days bah! Haha! :)

Anyway, hope that everything goes smoothly, and that your ORD draws nearer! Sian! But its okay, that also means that im POP-ing soon!

monday blues

Exactly how i felt.

Was a boring day at home, with a sudden heavy downpour in the afternoon. I had the initial intentions to make a trip to Beach Road to get items that I've lost during my confinement week. Just like how i lost my water bottle on just the 2nd day of enlistment, and worse of all, i'm the water parade IC for my platoon. Imagine the IC infront, holding on to a mineral water bottle and the rest, holding on to the army one. And thats not the only item lost, alright? I just wished i could be less clumsy and forgetful.

Anyways, I cancelled the trip even thou the rain stopped, and even rejected Shaoqi's invitation to go somewhere else. Just wanted to stay at home. I was walking around in my house instead, having nothing to do.

I think the 2 weeks in army do make me change a teeny-weeny bit. Other than being tanned, having some zits on my face, having muscles aches, bruises and blisters all over, I think i'm more or less accustomed to the practices in army.

Even thou there is a water heater here, i still bath with cold water. I couldn't sleep last night, bet I've already gotten used to the bugs-infested bed. I think i woke up around 5 plus, guess i'm expecting 5bx at 0545, and probably lights-out at 2230 after RO? Shit.

HOME SWEET HOME

YEAH! I'm finally back home from Pulau Tekong after the 2 weeks confinement! Just came home from White Sands at Pasir Ris. Had Burger King (craved for fast food for 2 weeks already) with Benjamin, Tong Kiat and Shaoqi. Not very used to my computer now, kinda feeling out of place with it now. I now have 103 unread emails lor! And i see guys EVERYDAY sia! Damn sian one, now i still can look at girls. Haha. And I think i can take spicy food now, 'cos sometimes i'm too hungry to even reject any spicy food given. Haha.

Honestly speaking, those trainings do made me fitter than before. Muscular already okay! But i've put on weight, don't know it is muscles or fats! Now i'm 70kg liao, used to be around 66kg! Everyone has gained average 3-5kg in my platoon too! And now i sooooo tanned/burnt, i even had sunburn on my scalp on the first few days lor. And of course, i'm botak now! Damn cooling,

Although training were rather tough, but it was very bearable with new talk-cock-sing-song buddies and friends. Made lots of nice and good people from my platoon, and especially those from my section. And also met some sec sch and poly friends there too! And also, the injection was nothing lor! Don't know who tell me damn pain one, made me scared like shit before it!

Alright, i don't think i could speak any further. In all, i think army life is just really like doing lots of things that you've never done before, and would never thought of doing. It's really quite fun (in some way) provided you have a supportive and nice group of friends, and with a positive mindset.

For more interesting stuffs, you can ask me personally. :)

Pre-enlistment.

Today was the Mid-Autumn Festival, but I was at home the whole day. Only had zi char with Mum and Dad somewhere nearby.

I probably wouldn't have time to be updating this blog as frequent now. Because tomorrow is my enlistment day already. I'm actually quite fortunate to have at least 6-7 friends enlisting on the same day, but of course in different timeslots. Alot right?! I hope some of them could be in the same company and most preferably, same bunk with me. Being a lil' greedy, i was just wondering how nice and fun it'd be if the whole bunk is filled with all your close friends.

I've almost finished packing my stuffs. Having mixed feelings right now, with my palpitating heart beating wildly and palms that are real sweaty. I bet i can't sleep again tonight. During these while, i thank my friends and my family that have encouraged me for the enlistment, because of these encouragements, i shall be brave and shall overcome my fears (hopefully)!

Bye friends, i'm off to serve the nation! I'll miss you guys! See you in 2 weeks' time! Have your phones turned on at night okay?! I'll be damn bored then! Or you can text me too! Bye! :)

Second last.

Yes, it's really my second last weekend. I know i've been whining nonstop, and me myself find it irritating too. Lol. I really gotta apologize to Mum and some friends.

And today, I finally passed my precious PSP to Kokboon, since i wouldn't be home for 2 weeks. A slip of my mouth, i told my mum about it, and she just nagged all the way till i left the house. So if anything happens to my beautiful, pretty, slim and elegant white PSP, you'll report to my mum and not me hor! She paid for it, so i could do nothing! :D

Me, Kokboon and Shaoqi went to Cine's adidas. It's for the adidas "Born Again" event. It's actually trading in your old shoes for new ones. Every 20 pairs collected, 1 new pair will be donated to charity.

This event was supposed to have ended by 7 Sept, but when i asked, they now say it's until the end of this month! Then i happily gave them one of my old shoes i kept in my storeroom, bought since primary sch! I've not worn that for ages, but it's clean thou!

That's my new adizero Breeze! And it's DAMN light lor, like no weight one! I always wanted to buy a proper running shoe, and now i finally did! If there wasn't such a tempting event, i wouldn't have thought of getting one now, since i'll be enlisting real soon.

I'd get one anyway, so why waste the chance of saving the 30 bucks up, and yet clear a pair of old shoe that is just doing nothing in my storeroom? Heh.

Kokboon bought one with similar model, price and design, but of different colour. That's his with the full blue! Btw, both our shoes cost $152 each. In the meantime, i'll keep my new baby in the storeroom first, and use it when i'm out of the "chalet"! :( Anyway, shoes also no expiry date right?!! (Haha, lame.)

After buying and walking around, we later went to Breeks Cafe together with Felix and Weili for our dinner. Roamed around, then headed to Starbucks, before heading back home. A pity we didn't take any photos.

My love, i'll come and claim you back 2 weeks later, okie?! Take care of it hor, Kokboon!

It's actually Sept 14 by now. :(

BAH!

I was watching Army Daze yesterday, loaded from Crunchyroll. It was damn hilarious, made me a little excited thou.

Today was quite a long day. Early afternoon rushed to meet Mum at the temple at Bencoolen Street, then we had some vegetarian food around. Walked around with her. Then we headed to The Centrepoint, she bought some fragrances for my Sis from DKNY. And yes, i got a new one as well from EA - Diamonds. Thanks Mum! :D

And we really bought quite alot of stuffs today. Wanted to buy some loafers and sandals as well, but the mood wasn't there, you know, it's the army mood now.

Then we went to Cineleisure's Xin Wang HK Cafe to have dinner with Dad. After that i went to meet the guys up at The Cathay to watch the movie, Step Brothers. We're literally laughing throughout the whole show! It was really damn funny! It's a M18 film, so i did expect something like that! I'd say it's another nonsensical Zohan-like film! But we totally loved it!!!!

We'll hesitating over Wall.E to this initially, but we DID NOT regret watching this at all!

A MUST-WATCH MOVIE!

But beware of the content and language thou! Lots of F-bombs!

Wondered?

Just got home not long ago, went for prata at Jalan Kayu with Kelvin, Leeleng, Felix and Shaoqi. What can we guys talk about now? Of course, army stuffs.

And also met up with Lichuan, Guoxian, Siewping and Rick at this Whitedog Cafe located at Vivo yesterday. We chatted nonstop for around 3-4 hours at the cafe. What could be the main topics we're discussing about, since there are 3 enlistees seated around? Army stuffs, of course. From the "xiong" trainings to the usual supernatural topics. And i was quite surprised to know the other 2 can't swim as well! Shall meet them at the swimming lessons then!

Tomorrow going out with mum to get the necessities for NS. Damn sian. 4 days more.

HAVE YOU WONDERED WHY MUST WE SERVE?

Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore Triathlon

Attended the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Triathlon event. Had to reach by 5AM. That Saturday, i slept at 11.30PM, hoping to wake up by around 3.30AM. I already had so little hours of sleep, and yet i still had problems sleeping! I think i slept only for 30mins in all. Keep turning and tossing again.

Woke up at 3.30AM, met with Weili and Kokboon at about 4.30AM and cabbed down to ECP. Got briefed about our first jobs, and started work. We had to use some ink and stamp to label the participants' numbers on their arms. It was really hilarious when we stamped on the wrong sides of the numbers on the participants, especially the number "4"! Super confusing! To speed up the process, I prepared the inked stamps of the numbers and Kokboon helped to stamp. Then we switched roles. Of course, we weren't the only booth. There were at least 7-8 booths, labelling over thousands of people. We spent almost an hour finishing the job! Just before finishing stamping, Tricia and Caleen just managed to arrive!!!

Then we rested, before knowing our next job. We're in charge of the fruits section. On that day, we're literally fruits peddlers. We could really open a fruits stall! Weili and Kokboon was in charge of cutting up really big and heavy watermelons. Caleen and me had to cut oranges. Tricia acted like the one serving the fruits. I don't usually hold a knife, much less know how to use one, so i have to thank Caleen for teaching me the right way of cutting up oranges! Now i'm a pro in cutting up oranges!

Then, the first runner from Australia, came back in about 3 hours 55 mins, after 70.3 MILES! Thumbs up man! Then LOADS of cameras and videocams were stationed right infront of the finishing line. LOL.

Swim – 1.9KM
Bike – 90.1KM
Run - 21.1KM

Initially, we thought our "fruits stall" would be a flop, but we were sooooo damn wrong! The rate the fruits the participants take, is so much faster than the rate we cut! The fruits are really refreshing and sweet for the participants, on such a hot day. We had to continue this for many many hours, WITHOUT MUCH REST! The watermelons are really exaggerating, Weili and Kokboon took at least 5 minutes to cut up 1 watermelon, but within seconds, the served ones are all gone! Poor them! Oranges are still manageable. I tried to help them, but clumsily got sliced by the knife! The rather deep wound had blood gushing nonstop, so bo bian.

All of us was really very tired from the aching limbs. There was once when the tired Caleen sat down, and someone from some media was filming our cutting process, she immediately stood up, whispered to me, "Wah, must show that I'm doing something." I almost LOL! But of course, i tried acting pro in cutting those oranges too! :D

Towards the end, the worse thing about the fruits, esp. the watermelons, is that there are still many many many baskets left, about 18 baskets with 3-4 melons each in it. Until one point, all of us are really very tired, we told the participants that there are no more fruits already. Haha! The place was really uber uber dirty with watermelon and orange juices! Then we collected our pay and had our FREE KFC meal as sponsored.

And with Tricia guiding us home, you could expect us being lost in the vicinity. Haha. But seriously, I really have to apologize to them for asking them to volunteer in this event lah. I'm quite guility about this. What i told them, wasn't what was expected, like the jobscope and rewards. Sorry, guys. Luckily i didn't ask any other people to join. There's actually still a Standard Chartered one. :D

As koped from Boon's blog. :)

I had fun (somehow) that day, hoped you guys did too! Now my hands are still painful and aching!

(﹀︵﹀)(﹀︵﹀)(﹀︵﹀)(﹀︵﹀)(﹀︵﹀)(﹀︵﹀)

Recently, I've been super super super emo. As the enlistment date comes nearer, i get even more emo. Thanks to my friends that constantly remind me of my enlistment date.

The whole of last week, i've been having insomnia everyday, just kept turning and tossing in bed. Thinking of what my NS friends have been telling and infusing to me. Damn.

Now I have less than one week to Tekong. And now, what troubles me is the injections once again. And now 2 to be injected! I really hate them lah! Like what i've said, I've trypanophobia (fear of injections and needles) from young. I'm scared of the piercing, not the pain. But what to do, what will come, will come. I just have to be like a man, and be poked.

Anyways.

Tuesday, September 2

I went to visit my ex-colleagues at BIS, where i worked during my SIP. It was a nice feeling visiting everyone there. Most of them actually have not changed, except for Rebecca with her big tummy. Haha. Somehow Ariel managed to ask most of the people there for a dinner at PS. We then had our dinner at Cafe Cartel. Had a great time with them.

Before i left the company few months ago, I actually made a promise to Dewi saying I'll go for a movie date with her. It was funny when she reminded me! I almost forgot about it lor! Women are good at such stuffs! LOL!

After the dinner, most of them went off in Yujin's car, leaving me, Melvin and Ariel. We then went to arcade and played some games. Then we saw the Wall.E poster, and all of us took pictures with it.

There are even more cooler & nicer wallpapers and artworks of D3 on the official webby!

Preview video of D3. It's very niceeeee! The graphics is far better than D2! Looked like any MMORPGs you find nowadays. Can't wait! *Rub palms*

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

This facial expression is exactly what i'm showing now. Woke up today experiencing sudden intense pain on my back. The excruciating pain is on the left side of my lower back. Was thinking to gym today, but has to be cancelled. Shit.

Now i have 2 Salonpas patches stucked there. Now i have the very-medicated smell on me. I'm feeling slightly better, but the pain is still there!
What did i do last night? I just remembered turning & tossing on bed, thinking of how my upcoming army days will be like. What's wrong with myself lah?! Some many problems recently! Pattern more than badminton before enlistment!!

On a side note, wishing all teachers HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY! May there be even more teachers in the world, and have a happy time teaching, despite the fact that students nowadays are MUCH HARDER to teach. Kudos to those GREAT teachers! :D
